MARLBORO – The Sisters of the Assumption mourn the loss of Sr. Anita LeBlanc, formerly known as Sr. Regina-Marie who passed on at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, on Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was a native of Salem, MA, the third of four children born to Eugenie and Arthur LeBlanc on May 30, 1920.
Sr. Anita who was in her 70th year as a Sister of the Assumption spent over fifty of those as a dedicated educator whose joyful spirit and enthusiasm for teaching lives on in the hearts and minds of countless former students in Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut.
Sr. Anita is survived by her sister: Helen (LeBlanc) Rozumek of Peabody, MA; a sister-in-law: Theresa LeBlanc of Salem, several nieces and nephews and the Sisters of the Assumption worldwide. She was predeceased by her brothers Henry and Raymond LeBlanc.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., closing with a Prayer Service, at the Sisters of St. Anne Convent, 720 Boston Post Rd., Marlboro, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Sisters of St. Anne, Marlboro. Sr. Anita will be laid to rest in East Street Cemetery, Petersham, MA.
