PETERSHAM – The Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin mourn the loss of Sister Vivian Palmerie who passed away at Marie Esther Health Center in Marlboro, on March 2, 2014 after a long illness.
She was the daughter of Eva (Tetreault) Palmerie and Georges Palmerie of Indian Orchard, MA.
Sister Vivian entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Assumption in January of 1942. Gifted in both teaching and culinary arts, she was well known in the cities of Northbridge, Indian Orchard, Chicopee Falls and Millbury, MA. After retiring from teaching in 1984, she became chauffeur at Maria Assumpta Academy in Petersham, MA.
She is survived by nieces and nephews; cousins: Sister Lucille Tetreault, SASV of Ludlow, Brother Raymond Teterault, MM of Chicopee as well as other Tetreault cousins.
Sister Vivian will be waked at St. Anne Convent in Marlboro, MA on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by a special prayer service at 4:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Chapel in Marlboro, MA. Interment will follow in the East Street Cemetery in Petersham, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of the Assumption Retirement Fund, 211 North Main St., Petersham, MA 01366.
