Stanley V. Glinski

Stanley V. Glinski, 90, of 135 Logan St., died Friday, October 06, 2006 in the LaChance Center, Gardner. He was born in Gardner on October 14, 1915, the son of the late Voleslaw and the late Stephanie (Richupka) Glinski. Stanley grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School in 1933. He worked in Heywood Wakefield for many years and for the former Selig Manufacturing in Leominster for twenty years as a purchasing agent, retiring in 1978. Stanley was a member of St. Joseph´s Church, the Gardner Golden Agers, the Polish American Citizens Club and Country Club , A.A.R.P, and was a former member of the Gardner Municipal Golf Club. He was on the Board of Registrars in Gardner for many years and was an active democrat. He enjoyed swimming, softball, golfing and was a Yankees and Braves fan. Stanley was a good father, husband and a good citizen of Gardner where he was active in volunterring for Little League and teaching children to swim. He leaves his wife of thirty-six years, Elizabeth E. (Wolanske) Glinski; one daughter, Lorelle Kublbeck of Ashburnham; one son, Barry A. Glinski of Worcester; four sisters, Lillian Koslowski of Greenfield, Rika Tourtellotte of LaVerne, CA, Sally Cormier of Gardner and Sophie Connelly of Branford, CT; one brother, Michael Glinski of Leominster, many nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey P. Glinski in 2000; his first wife, Helen (LeBlanc) Glinski in 1968; four brothers, Walter, Joseph, Zigmont and Henry Glinski and one sister, Jennie Carpenter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph´s Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, West St., Gardner, MA. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in Stanley's memory to the Stanley Glinski Scholarship Fund, c/o PACC 171 Kendall Pond, Gardner, MA 01440 or to the LaChance Center, Activities Fund, 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, MA 01440. $(document).ready(function(){ });
