GARDNER - Stanley Tarmasiewicz, 91, of 63 Harvard St., Gardner, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at home. He was born in Gardner on October 21, 1919, the son of the late Ludvick and Helen Tarmasiewicz. Stanley was a lifelong resident of Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1938. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator from 1942 to 1945. While in the military, he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon with Bronze Service Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and Victory Medal. He previously worked for the former Hedstrom Union and GEM Cribbs. More recently, Mr. Tarmasiewicz worked for Collier Keyworth for twenty-five years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the VWF, PACC and communicant of St Joseph's Church in Gardner. Stanley was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to the Quabbin, Miller's River, and fished along the east coast. He leaves his beloved wife of sixty-one years, Elsie E. (Cormier) Tarmasiewicz; two daughters, Pauline Huffman and her husband Billy Ray of Tucson, AZ, Marie Kane and her husband Terence of Westford; his loving sister, Regina Bogdanowicz of West Covina, CA; two grandchildren, Terence J. Kane, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Tyngsboro, James Ray Huffman of Tucson, AZ; one great grandson, Nicholas Stephen Kane of Tyngsboro; his very caring nephew, Thomas Tarmasiewicz of Gardner; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by five brothers and by two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 9:30 am in the St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner. $(document).ready(function(){ });
