Stanley C. Young

Stanley C. "Barney" Young, Sr., 87, of 366 Exchange St., Athol, died Thursday in Heywood Hospital in Gardner after an illness. He was born in Winchendon July 25, 1916, son of the late Percy and Theresa (Tourtellot) Young and lived here all of his life. His wife, Nellie (Muzzy) Young died July 12. Mr. Young was employed with the L.S. Starret Co. retiring many years ago. For many years he was an antique dealer and auctioneer. He is survived by one son, Stanley C. Young, Jr. of Alexandria, Louisiana; three daughters, Kathleen Destroismaisons of Athol and Joan Antilla and Marion Gay, both by a previous marriage; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother, Bernard Young predeceased him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol, Monday, August 18, at 2PM. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. A calling hour will be held from 1-2PM Monday in the funeral home.
