GARDNER – Starlin L. Hart, 81, of Gardner died Friday, January 25, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 17, 1931 in Appleton, Maine the son of George and Leola (Ripley) Hart.  He grew up in Appleton and was educated there. Mr. Hart was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army.  He was employed at the former Gardner State Hospital for 18 years and went on to work at the Templeton Development Center for 16 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church; a member of the Gardner V.F.W. Post #905.  He loved automobiles especially Ford products. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Arlene C. (Packard) Hart; two daughters, Ann A. Bartlett and her husband Dan of Leominster, Judith B. McFadden of Charlton; a sister, Abby Escancey of Appleton, ME; a brother, Almond Hart of Ashburnham; three grandchildren, Nicholas Bartlett of Leominster, Hillary Newsome and her husband Tyjuan of Jacksonville, NC, Hannah McFadden of Charlton and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Hart and by three sisters, Helen Ware, Alice Knight and Hazel Carney. A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association – Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440 or to the Oncology Department at Heywood Hospital, 242 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
