Stella R. Gallant

LEOMINSTER - Stella R. Gallant, 92 of 495 Pleasant St., Leominster, who has resided in Sterling Heathcare for the past two years, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 in the Clinton Hospital, Clinton. She was born in Notre Dame New Brunswick, Canada, on January 6, 1915, the daughter of the late William A. and the late Caroline (Cormier) Gallant. She was educated in Leominster. Stella was a communicant of St. Cecilia´s Church, a member of the St. Jean de Baptiste, the Leominster Senior Citizens, Leominster Golden Ages and the Homemakers. She was employed at Foster Grants in the receiving department, she retired in 1978. She previously worked at E.I. DuPont Company in Leominster as an inspector. She leaves two nieces, Lee Anne Gallant of Leominster; Gail Gallant of Leominster; a nephew, Harley Gallant and his wife Jane of Birmingham, AL. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jeanne Sweeney and Anne Gallant and by her brother W. Amos Gallant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia´s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia´s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Jude Children´s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
