Stella T. LaBonte

BALDWINVILLE - Stella T. (Karpowicz) LaBonte, 93 of 16 Cherry Street, Baldwinville, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home. She was born in Baldwinville, on November 6, 1917, the daughter of the late William and the late Olympia (Radziewicz) Karpowicz. Stella grew up in Baldwinville and was a life long resident. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church; she was past president of St. Vincent de Paul Women's Club, past president of St. Martin's Church Women's Guild and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #373, Templeton. She was the former co-owner of LaBonte's Lunch in Baldwinville. She also worked as a cook at the former Gardner State Hospital for many years. She leaves one son, Richard E. LaBonte and his wife Carolyn of Gardner; one sister, Anna Richard of Baldwinville; six grandchildren, Steven LaBonte and his wife Joyce of Gardner; Robert LaBonte of Gardner; Richard A. LaBonte and his wife Susan of Gardner; Donna Stanley of Gardner; Sandra Oliva and her husband Robert of Gardner; Rae Ann LaBonte of Winchendon; twelve great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Ernest A. LaBonte, by a son, Raymond LaBonte, by a brother, William Karpowicz, and by a sister, Helen Bison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 10:00 am in St. Vincent De Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mack Funeral Home 91 Vernon St., Gardner.
