ATHOL – Steven Kilinke, a tutor and educator for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2017 at the age of 62.
Steve was born on February 6, 1954 in Huntington, NY to Millard and Joan (Mari) Klinke and graduated from the University of New York, Geneseo in 1976. He married Barbara Canon of Norwich, CT on October 6, 1984. Their only daughter Joan Klinke of Athol, MA was born in 1986.
Steve is survived by his wife, daughter and mother; siblings Edward Klinke, Susan Sawyer and Shirley Reid of FL; and step-mother Maryanne Klinke of West Roxbury, MA all of whom shall miss him greatly.
Steve was an avid lover of books and proponent of all things artistic and educational, with a soft-spoken charm and mischievous sense of humor. A family man, he and his wife Barbara were an inseparable pair and the closest of friends.
Family, Friends and other whose lives Steve touched are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA. There are no calling hours.
