Steven D. Morse

Steven D. Morse Athol – Steven D. Morse, 60, of South Athol Road, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.      Steve was born in Athol, MA, August 14, 1954, the son of Richard C. and Muriel E. (Soucie) Morse.  He lived in Athol all of his life and attended Athol High School.        Steve worked as a carpenter for many years, also was a tool maker and was able to do many different types of work.  He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, working on motorcycles, woodworking and all types of mechanics, as well as restoring a 1960’s Corvette and going to the beach in Maine where he loved to feed the sea gulls.  Steve especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends.  He was very grateful for all the help and dedication that the GVNA, Catholic Charities, his family and good friend Jim gave him throughout these past few months.  A simple message Steve wished to share was “when all is said and done, all that matters in the end is the love of family and friends”.  He was blessed to have experienced this himself up to his passing.       He leaves a sister, Debra Phelps and her husband Scott of Athol, his nephew, Adam Phelps and his fiancée Michelle O’Leary of Athol; four aunts, one uncle and several cousins.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother,   Bradley O. Morse.      At Steve’s request no formal funeral services are planned.  Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is directing arrangements. To continue Steve’s giving spirit the family requests that donations may be made in his memory to the Gardner VNA, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
