LEOMINSTER------Steven John Saseen 66 of Leominster died Tuesday June 21, 2011 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Leominster.
He was born January 23, 1945 in Berlin New Hampshire the son of the late Joseph Saseen and Georgette (Fournier) Saseen.
He leaves his three sons, Frederick A. Saseen of Lunenburg, Joshua D Saseen of Leominster and Caleb J. Saseen of Fitchburg, his daughter Erika L. Constant and her husband Ivan of Leominster, his brother Michael Saseen of Pembrook New Hampshire, his sister Margaret Boidoin of Derry New Hampshire, and his eight grandchildren, John Paul Pellerin, Mariah Saseen, Steven Constant, Brittnay, Constant, Christina Saseen, Christopher Montalvo, Autumn Saseen and Tom Ashworth. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Jenna McMullen. He also leaves nephews, nieces, cousins and his many friends.
His wife of (37) Years, Sanda (Rogers) Saseen died September 30, 2007.
Steven graduated from Notre dame High School in Berlin New Hampshire, later attending the University of New Hampshire. He was employed as a machinist at various manufacturing firms, most recently RoofBlok LTD in Gardner. He was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous, were he led meetings in Fitchburg and Gardner, and the ARC. He enjoyed woodworking, small engine repair, coin collecting and electronics/robotics, recently completing a fully functional remote controlled lawnmower.
He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War entering the service November 27, 1964 and was honorably discharged November 26, 1970, attaining the rank of SP4.He served in Company C 1ST BN (M) 58TH INF 197TH INF BRGD. He was injured in combat in 1966.He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device 1960,Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Expert (Rifle M-14) and the Purple Heart.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 28,2011 at 10am in Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St Leominster .Burial is private.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday June 27, 2011 are from 6pm-8pm.
