Theresa E. (Fortin) Barilone, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and auntie, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the age of 95. Born in Gill, Massachusetts on July 28, 1929, the youngest daughter of Arthur and Rhea (Guilbault) Fortin. Theresa was a beacon of light with a bit of spunk, who was always her true authentic self; her life is a testament to the power of resilience, love, and determination.
Theresa married her beloved husband, Joseph Barilone, on January 10, 1948, in the Our Lady Immaculate Chapel. They met while both employed at Erving Paper Mill. She also worked in the Athol Jr. High cafeteria and Athol Research Co. After retiring, Theresa, enjoyed time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Ann Benard (Gene), Michael Barilone (Jane), John Barilone, and Frank Barilone; her grandchildren, Allison Barilone, Zachary Benard, Michael Benard, Gregory Barilone, Aaron Barilone, Kimberly Charquette, Samantha Barilone, and Brandon Barilone; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Norman Fortin; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend and caretaker, Judy Melanson.
Theresa joins her late husband Joseph, her son Anthony, and her grandsons John H. Barilone and Justin Chenausky, her siblings, Dorothy, Esther, Ernestine, Rita, Bertha and Arthur Jr. in eternal rest. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life, cherishing the memories we shared with her and the joy and laughter she brought to our lives.
Graveside services are planned for a later date at the family's discretion. Fisk-Murphy Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA will be overseeing the arrangements.
