Theresa F. Bolster

Gardner, MA- Theresa F. (Gibbons) Bolster, 106 of 88 High Street, died in her home where she resided for 82 years following an illness. She was born in born in Clinton on July 9, 1901 the daughter of the late James Gibbons and Anne (McDonald) Gibbons. Mrs. Bolster graduated from Clinton High School in 1918 and graduated in 1920 from the former Fitchburg Normal School now known as Fitchburg State College. Mrs. Bolster was a teacher and taught in a one room school house in Hubbardston, she also taught in Nahant, Chelsea, and Westminster. She served as a Clerk and Vice President of the former Bolster Oil Company in Gardner. She was a communicant of Holy Spirit Church in Gardner, former president and member of the former Catholic Women's Club, a member of the former Gardner Women's Club, the former Holy Spirit Church Women's Club, a member for many years of the Heywood Hospital Aid Association, a member of the Gardner Museum, and was a very active member of the Girl Scouts many years ago. Mrs. Bolster was a C.C.D. teacher for many years at Sacred Heart Church and Holy Spirit Church. She enjoyed painting, rug braiding, rug hooking, needlecraft and was an avid reader. Her husband of 45 years, Robert L. Bolster died in 1969. She leaves two daughters, Marjorie A. Delay of Gardner, and Marita Bohman and her husband John of Gardner; seven grandchildren, Dennis Delay of Manchester, NH, Deborah Gustafson of Gardner, Douglas Delay of Winchendon, Drucilla Faucher of Haverhill, David Delay of Milford, NH, Deirdre Forte of Keene, NH, and Daniel Delay of Nantucket, MA, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Joseph F. Gibbons who died in 1999, and two sisters, Marie Gannon who died in 1993 and Alice Fallon who died in 1999. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2007. The John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner is directing the arrangements.
