Theresa G. (Caissie) Bockus

BALDWINVILLE - Theresa G. Bockus, 85, of Baldwinville, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Baldwinville Nursing Home.   Theresa was born on July 19, 1926 in Gardner, the daughter of Marcel and Menda (Boucher) Caissie. She was raised in Baldwinville and graduated from Templeton High School with the class of 1944. She attended Fitchburg State College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching in 1948.   Mrs. Bockus worked as a teacher at the Otter River School and Baldwinville Elementary School for nearly twenty years. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville and a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers’ Association. Theresa enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing cards, knitting, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   She leaves her husband of sixty years, Kenneth F. Bockus; three sons, Keith P. Bockus and his wife Deborah of Hubbardston, Thomas P. Bockus and his wife Sue of Athol, Mark S. Bockus and his wife Nancy of Wilmington; two daughters, Virginia M. Farr and her husband William of Rindge, NH, Ellen J. Ouellette and her husband Kevin of Concord, NH; two brothers, Gerard “Buster” Caissie of Baldwinville, Donald Casey of Barre; two sisters, Dorothy Kirby of Baldwinville, Mary Aline Waters of Athol; eleven grandchildren, Chris Bockus, Jen LiVigni and her husband Ari, Andrew Bockus, Scott Bockus, Nicole Bockus, Brenton Bockus, Amanda Farr, Katie Farr, Elizabeth Farr, Matthew Ouellette, Michelle Ouellette; four great-grandsons, Kyle and Evan Bockus, Aiden and Jace LiVigni; and many nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Caisse and Albert “Peto” Caisse; five sisters, Doris Fournier, Loretta Koldys, Helen Vailliere, Frances Columbus, Rita Kangas; and her granddaughter-in-law, Sherron Bockus.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Baldwinville. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Baldwinville Nursing Home, P.O.
