GARDNER - Theresa C. (LaFosse) Gingras, 86, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, September 4, 2010 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home following a long illness. She was born in Fitchburg on February 7, 1924, the daughter of Arthur and Marie-Jeanne (Lajoie) LaFosse. Theresa grew up in Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School and the Worcester Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as assistant head nurse and staff nurse at Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital until the birth of her two children. Theresa was a gifted artist, providing the illustrations for her high school yearbook. Her original works included portraits and lifescapes. She was a talented seamstress and avid gardener. Theresa's pressed-flower art was lovingly given to family and friends and showcased at the Wilmington, Vermont Country Store. Theresa and her husband, Roger K. Gingras, recently celebrated their 62 wedding anniversary. She leaves two sons, David C. Gingras and his wife Mary Jane of Harrisburg, PA, Robert K. Gingras and his wife Ann of North Billerica. She also leaves four grandchildren, David Gingras and his wife Jennifer, Denise McGough and her husband Shawn, Allen Gingras, and Brian Gingras; five great-grandchildren, Alliane, Jessica and Michael Gingras, Connor McGough and Alexis Gingras. Theresa is survived by her sister, Lucille "Cecile" LaBelle. She was predeceased by her brother, Dennis LaFosse, in 2001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Crystal Lake Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to Wachusett Manor Nursing Home Activities Fund, 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, MA 01440. $(document).ready(function(){ });
