Theresa E. (LaPointe) Gionet

LEOMINSTER- Theresa E. (LaPointe) (Pellecchia) Gionet, 87, of Leominster, died peacefully, Thursday, February 26, in her daughter’s home, surrounded by her family. She was born November 5, 1927, in Leominster, daughter of the late Prudent and Edna (Boisvert) LaPointe. Theresa was a member of St. Cecilia’s Parish. She worked at E.B. Kingman for many years working previously at the Carrington Company, both in Leominster. She loved spending time with her family, knitting, playing bingo, playing cards, especially cribbage and watching the Boston Red Sox games. Her husband, Robert Gionet, died in 2003. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Emile, Roland, and Robert LaPointe, one sister, Lucille Cook, one step daughter, Lucille Gionet, and one step son, Joseph Pellecchia. She leaves three sons, Vincent R. Pellecchia and his wife, Carol, of Fitchburg, Richard C. Pellecchia and his wife, Terri of CO, and Stephen D. Pellecchia and his wife, Kathi of Maine; two daughters, Maria L. Richardson and her husband, Gary, with whom she lived, Cynthia A. LaFleur and her husband, Roger of Fitchburg; three stepchildren, David Pellecchia and his wife, Norma of Leominster, Frances George wife of the late Theodore George, of Worcester, and LeLaine Sicard, wife of the late Paul Sicard of Leominster; one brother, Bernard LaPointe of Leominster; two sisters, Rita Ward of AR, and Jeanine Babb of TX; one sister-in-law, Cora LaPointe of Leominster; 24 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Monday, March 2, from Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday, March 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
