Theresa H. Lyonnais

LEOMINSTER - Theresa H. (Cormier) Lyonnais, 85, of Leominster, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in the Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston, where she has resided for the past year. She was born in Leominster on August 15, 1925, the daughter of Alyre and Elizabeth (Bourque) Cormier. She grew up in Leominster and was educated in Leominster; she attended St. Cecilia's School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church; she was a member of the Senior Center of Leominster. She enjoyed playing Bingo, making crafts and taking trips to Foxwoods. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Lyonnais who died in 1989, by her daughter, Patricia Lyonnais who died in 1968, by her son in-law, Peter Oprea, and by her brother, Maurice Cormier. She leaves four daughters, Nancy Germain and her husband Paul of Worcester, Linda (Oprea) Gold and her husband Hermann of Osprey, FL, Joyce Lyonnais and her fiance Clark Garinger of Townsend, Jane Kiley and her husband John of Berlin, MA; three sons, John Lyonnais and his wife Fumie of Fredericksburg, VA, Steven Lyonnais and his wife Diane of Myrtle Beach, SC, Edward Lyonnais and his wife Melissa of Westminster; four brothers Henry Cormier of Fitchburg, Raymond Cormier of Leominster, Alfred Cormier of Leominster, Robert Cormier of Leominster; one sister, Doris Freda of Pinellas Park, FL; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster. Burial in St. Cecilia's Cemetery will be private at a later date. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster.
