Timothy Williams

April 18, 1972 — April 8, 2021

GARDNER - Timothy Williams transitioned into the next part of his journey at the Rose Monahan Hospice Facility on April 8, 2021, where he was provided the best care and support by a nurse named Ellen. Timothy Williams was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 18, 1972 to parents Joseph and Luetish Williams. He leaves behind his sons Elijah Williams, Jadin Williams, Tyrone Torres & his partner Julissa Rodriguez and their children Sebastian, Khalessi and Armani Torres, as well as daughters Marlie Williams and Aryana Williams & her partner Justin Brown. As a young teen he followed his brother to Gardner, Massachusetts where he remained a resident for a number of years. Timothy enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and of course loved fishing. He was surrounded by his loved ones before his passing. His room faced a lake where we joked about taking him fishing. I think many of us would say we’d give just about anything to go fishing one last time with him. Mourning Timothy Williams should mean acknowledging the ways in which we as a society have criminalized addiction, as well as the lack of mental health services and resources for adults and children. It means acknowledging how our language perpetuates stigmas towards people with substance use disorders as well as those living with mental health challenges, and moving towards a more supportive world. We as a society must bridge the gap between mental health awareness, addiction, and the accessibility to proper treatment services. Timothy battled addiction for a majority of his life. In his times of clarity he was consumed by guilt & sorrow, and he wanted to be better. Timothy loved his family, friends, and especially each one of his children. We as a family would like to thank each and every one of you who loved, supported, and cared for Timothy, especially when his journey didn’t allow us to. As a way to remember Timothy, we ask that on April 18th you enjoy a glass of coke and a piece of chocolate, two things he enjoyed, to celebrate the birthday and life of Timothy. A calling hour, open to the public, will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner from 12pm - 1pm. A private funeral service will be held at a later date for the family. To send an online condolence please visit www.mackfamilyfh.com.
