Timothy J. Young, 69, of Athol, died on January 18 ,2025, at Leominster Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, after a period of declining health.
Born in Athol on May 12, 1955, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Margaret L. Young. He graduated from Athol-Royalston Regional High School with the class of 1973.
Timmy is survived by his son Jeff (Kathy), brothers John, Peter, Brian, Dennis (Patty), Michael and sister Mary Anne (Don) He is also survived by grandchildren(Autumn, Sierra, Cain and Riley), great grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews(Charlie, Emily, Erin, Margaret, Katie,, Alice and Caroline).
Timmy began his work career at Union Twist Drill. He then worked for over thirty years at Duall Plastic/Spectrum Plastics.
Timmy and his family enjoyed camping at Nickerson State Park on Cape Cod for many summers. He was an avid New England Sports fan, and had a particular passion for watching the Celtics. He was an avid reader his favorite author was Stephen King.
Timmy loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Recovery was a big part of Timmy’s later life. He enjoyed attending meetings and helping other people on their journey of recovery. Timmy committed time and energy to leading recovery meetings in MCI Gardner.
Timmy, “Chunky”, will be remembered for telling a good story or cracking a joke. He was always happy to be around family.
