ATHOL - Veto L. Losius, 84 of 62 C Street, Athol, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006, in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol.
He was born in Athol, on June 27, 1921, the son of the late Anton and the late Anna (Gedraitis) Losius.
He lived in Athol all his life and graduated from Athol High School. He was a Tool Maker, employed by the L. S. Starrett Co. for 43 years. He served during World War II in the Army.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and gardening.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Frances M. (Ryder) Losius, two sons; David B. Losius of Northfield, and Peter L. Losius of Athol, one sister; Eugenia Broulliet of Athol, and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Aldona Darcy, of Fitchburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 10:00 am in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Alzheimer´s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
