Victoria A. Sweet

TEMPLETON - Victoria A. (Gontarski) Sweet, 90, of 37 Winchendon Rd., Templeton, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus of Worcester. She was born in Gardner on November 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Stanley P. and the late Annie I. Gontarski. Mrs. Sweet was raised in Baldwinville and graduated from Gardner High School. She worked as a clerk for the former Goodnow Pearsons Department Store of Gardner for many years. Mrs. Sweet had recently resided in the Broadview Rest Home of Winchendon. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and the Templeton Senior Citizens. She leaves one son, Henry S. Sweet and his wife Ann of Paxton. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Henry V. Sweet in 2002, and by her brother, Stanley Gontarski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Vincent De Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner.
