GARDNER - Viola R. (Heredeen) Fucile, 86, of 104 Church Street, Apt. 111, Gardner, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home.
She was born in Thompson, Connecticut, on October 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Rose (Wyman) Heredeen.
Mrs. Fucile was a resident of Gardner for over sixty years. She worked as a Nurse's Aid for the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home and the former Gardner Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed playing Bingo and taking trips to Foxwoods Casino. She always had a warm smile for anyone she met.
A devoted mother, she will be sadly missed by her loving family. She leaves one daughter, Nancy Beaupre and her husband Steven of Otter River; one son, Bradley J. Fucile and his wife Christine of Otter River; a step daughter, June Douglas of Gardner; a niece, Faye Aldrich and her husband Steven of Millbury; one sister, Irene Moore of Orange; one brother, Frank Heredeen of Florida; a nephew, Brian Richard of Gardner; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Joseph C. Fucile, in April of 2008; also by her step son, Joseph H. Fucile; by her brother, Raymond Heredeen; and by seven sisters, Leona Cawell, Bertha Hardy, Shirley Gaulzett, Pearl Jepson, Beatrice Nawotny, Evette Thompson, and Alice Gibbs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 11:30 a.m., 2010 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Baldwinville Nursing Home Activity Fund, P.O. Box 24, Templeton, MA 01468.
