Athol – Virginia Mae (Partridge) Collins, 94, of 62 Exchange Street, Athol.
She was born in Orange on January 11, 1923, the daughter of the late Fay and the late Amy (Case) Partridge.
Mrs. Collins was raised and educated in Orange. She owned a camp on Queen Lake in Phillipston with her husband, Clifford, where she enjoyed spending summers with her family for nearly thirty years while residing on Wheeler Avenue in Orange. She worked in the Dexter Park School Cafeteria for thirty years and also worked for the former Athol Steakhouse and the Homestead Restaurant in Orange. She resided in Brookline, New Hampshire, with her family for three years and worked as cafeteria supervisor at a local school. Upon her retirement in 2008, Virginia moved to Athol. She enjoyed dancing, bowling and traveling.
She leaves two sons, David Clifford Collins and his wife Elizabeth of Athol, Dean Alan Collins of NH; six grandchildren, Davida Lynne Gates, Kris David Collins, Arnel Daniel Collins, all of Athol; Belinda Jean Gasteazoro, Tina Marie Hughes, Logan Alan Collins, of NH.; Fifteen great grandchildren & five great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Lynn Collins, in November of 2000; by her daughter, Lorraine Carol Collins, in September of 1968; and by her siblings, Verna, Herbert, Paul, Edward, Chester, Shirley, & Barbara.
Graveside Services will be held in South Cemetery, Orange, Saturday June 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to American Cancer Society’s New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
