Virginia P. Colo, 83 of 296 Fredette Street, died Monday, October 2, 2006 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare. She was born in Athol on March 6, 1923, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ernest H. Chiasson. Virginia grew up in East Templeton and moved to Athol in the 1940´s. She was previously employed at Union Twist Drill, the L.S. Starrett Co., McElwain´s Shoe Shop and the Giants Department Store. Her hobbies included crafting ceramics, collecting glass works and ceramics, and she was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Angelo "Vic" Colo; brother-in-law, Tom Colo and his wife Marie of Athol; sister-in-law, Helen Chiasson of Lakeland, FL; nephew, Louie Honkala of Westminster; four nieces, Linda of NY, Penny of SC, Christina Hunt of Orange and Dr. Andrea Plaskiewicz of Fayetteville, NC. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest Chiasson and Robert Chiasson; and a sister, Nellie Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 10:00 am in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Virginia's memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331. $(document).ready(function(){ });
