ASHBURNHAM - Virginia L. "Ginny" (Lawton) Morris, 85, of 113 Williams Road, Ashburnham, died on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner.
Virginia was born in Medford, MA on May 29, 1926, the daughter of Lester T. and Esther E. (Landerkin) Lawton. She was raised in Medford before coming to Ashburnham many years ago. She attended Cushing Academy and graduated from Murdock High School in Winchendon. As an adult learner, Ginny attended Mount Wachusett Community College. She was a homemaker for most of her life and raised seven children. Ginny enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, post cards and was a self-taught piano player. She especially loved spending time with her family.
She leaves a daughter-in-law, Carolyn "Carol" L. Clements of Salem, MA; three sons, Kermit A. "Ken" Morris, Jr. of Westminster, Fred L. Morris of Franklin, NH, Timothy J. "Tim" Morris of Fitchburg; two daughters Mary E. St. Jacques of Franklin, NH; Wendy A. Hietala of Ashburnham, one brother, Elwyn Lawton of Orange; many grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ginny was predeceased by her husband of fifty-three years, Kermit A. Morris Sr. in 1998; by two sons, Jeffrey L. Morris in 1992, Stephen P. Morris in 1996; by her brothers, Charles Lawton, Norman Lawton, and by her sister, Marjorie Anne Mason.
Calling hours will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon Street, Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 750 Rindge Road, Fitchburg.
Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Peterborough, NH, will be private.
