Virginia May Nalivaika

TEMPLETON - Virginia May (Waterman) Nalivaika, 88, of 20 Shore Drive, Templeton, died on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at her home. Virginia was born in Athol on April 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Raymond H. and the late Lillian E. (Castine) Waterman. She was raised in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1941. She has resided in Templeton since 1947 and was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed crossword puzzles, canasta, bowling, knitting and sewing. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards with her children and being with her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves three daughters, Pat Pillsbury and her husband Charles of Sterling, Mary Bryson and her husband Allen of Philadelphia, PA, Nancy Morse of Templeton; two sons, Gary Sylvester and his wife Bonnie of Hyannisport, Bill Sylvester of Westminster; one brother, Chandler Waterman and his wife Connie of Florida; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Nalivaika, in 1992; and by her first husband of twenty-three years, Lionel Sylvester, in 1964; by a brother, Raymond Waterman; and by a sister, Margaritte Fournier. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cornerstone Church, 122 Gardner Road, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner.
