Virginia L. (Williams) Litchfield

WORCESTER - Virginia L. (Williams) (Savoy) Litchfield, 87 of 18 Hammond St., Worcester, formerly of Athol died Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the Hammond Nursing Home, Worcester. She was born in Sunapee, NH, on November 6, 1925, the daughter of the late Stephen D. and the late Maude (Bundy) Williams. She was a Physical Therapist, employed by Belchertown State School. She grew up in Athol and attended local schools.  She lived in Belchertown from 1970 to 1995, before returning to Athol.  She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Athol. She leaves one daughter, Lyn Jones and her husband Steve of Durnham, NC; one son, Herman C. Savoy, Jr. and his wife Rena of Athol; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard W. Litchfield, by her son, Stephen P. Savoy who died in 1987, by a granddaughter, Sharlene (Tatta) Jobst; and by three brothers, Francis Williams, Warren Williams and Robert Williams. A Mass will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, 15 Park Avenue, Athol.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to St. John’s Episcopal Church 15 Park Avenue, Athol, MA 01331.
