LEOMINSTER - Vivian Margaret (Doucet) Gould, 79, of
Leominster, died after a short illness on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at
the Health Alliance Leominster Campus, surrounded by family.
She was born in Athol on January 2, 1931, the daughter of the late
Frank and the late Emily (Landry) Doucet.
Vivian was raised in Athol, Fitchburg and Bridgeport, Connecticut.
She attended St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg and was a
homemaker. Vivian moved to several places over the years with her
husband, Raymond, while he served in the United States Army, including
Fort Hood, Texas, and Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Gould resided in
Leominster with her family for most of her life. She was devoted to
her Catholic faith and a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. She was
a fashionable woman and followed current events throughout the world
by watching and reading news stories. She enjoyed sewing and watching
cooking shows on television. She will always be remembered by her
loved ones for her dedication and love for her family, her jestful
ways and her warm heart. Vivian loved spending time with her husband,
children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
She leaves her husband of nearly sixty years, Raymond J. Gould; three
daughters, Linda Testagrossa and her husband Ray of Athol, Shelly
Akatyszewski and her husband Rick of Hollis, NH, Charlene Cochlin and
her husband Dan of Fitchburg; one brother, Maurice Doucet and his wife
Theresa of Leominster; one sister, Jackie Patella and her husband
Frank of Falmouth; a sister-in-law, Angie Doucet of Leominster; eleven
grandchildren, Justin, Aly, Adam, Jenny, Brittany, Markus, Denna, Ava,
Tony, Jimmy and Lucas; two great grandchildren, Hailey and Emily; and
seventeen nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Dennis Doucet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at
10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street,
Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be
made in her memory to St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street,
Leominster, MA 01453.
