Wanda Karpowicz

  MILFORD, CT – Wanda Karpowicz, 88, of Milford Connecticut formerly of Gardner, MA  died in Milford, Ct.   She was born in Gardner on February 14, 1924 the daughter of Henry and Bolerawala (Czajkowski) Karpowicz. She grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School.    Ms. Karpowicz worked for Dr. T.J. Domenici for many years as well as working at Heywood Hospital for several years.  She also was employed at the Walter Reed Hospital in Wasington D.C. as a cadet nurse.    Wanda volunteered at the senior center in Milford, CT for many years.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Gardner when she lived there and recently a member of St. Mary’s Church in Milford, CT.   She leaves a sister, Genieve Dokurno of Milford, CT; a brother Edward Karpowicz of Gardner and numerous nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Karpowicz and by a sister Mary Karpowicz Alto.   A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Chuch, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT.  Private burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Gardner.   There are no calling hours.   To sign the online guest book please visit www.poliksfuneralhome.com   Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA is directing arrangements. $(document).ready(function(){ });
