Wilbur R. Lovern,

ATHOL - Wilbur R. Lovern, Jr., 64 of 4 Briggs Road, Athol, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005 in the Athol Memorial Hospital. He was born in Pelham on January 3, 1941, the son of the late Wilbur R. Lovern, Sr. and the late Marie (Malenfant) Lovern. He lived in Athol for 35 years, coming from Annadale, Virginia. He was a respitory therapist at Athol Memorial Hospital, he owned and operated Athol Medical, Inc. for several years and more recently he worked for Suffield Oxygen Sales & Service. He was a former member of the Athol Knights of Columbus, Athol-Orange Lodge of Elks and the Petersham Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Helen (Wagner) Lovern; four sons, Lawrence (Larry) W. Lovern of Athol, Robert R. Lovern of Warwick, Steven C. Lovern of Orange, Michael A. Lovern of Petersham, two sisters, Ellen M. Wong of Bernardston, and Lelia Weichert of Denver, NC, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at 11:00 am in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will be in the East Street Cemetery, Petersham. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to American Cancer Society´s, New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 J.
