Athol- William F. Barillo, 79 of Athol, passed away on Friday February 21, 2014 in the Holden Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. He was born in Groton, MA on September 15, 1934, the son of the late Francis and Mary (Stanton) Barrillo. He grew up in Groton and Littleton, MA and lived in Athol area for 50 Years.
William was a self employed builder where he built houses in the Athol area under the name of Barillo Construction. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 27, 1952 thru Obtober 18, 1956 during the Korean War conflict. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Navy Occupation Service Medal.
He leaves behind his dear and close friend, Hannelore Smart of Orange.
Calling hours will be held from the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home 110 New Athol Road. Orange on Tuesday February 25, 2014 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday February 26 at 10:00am. Burial with Military Honors will be held immediately following in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
