HUBBARDSTON - William R. “Bill” Bellofatto, Jr., 84, of Hubbardston died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
Mr. Bellofatto was born May 11, 1932 in Milford, MA, the son of the late William R. and the late Bertha (Daniels) Bellofatto.
Bill grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return from the Navy he graduated from UMass Stockbridge with a degree in Forestry.
He was employed at the S. Bent Brothers Manufacturing for many years as Vice President of Manufacturing. He went on to be an Independent Consultant operating Bellofatto and Associates for many years. He also owned and operated All Outdoors - Sporting Shop in Hubbardston for many years.
Bill was a life member of the Gardner Fish & Gun Club; he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Madeline (Lessard) Bellofatto; three daughters, Susan M. Berthiaume of Hubbardston; Paula J. Bolger and her husband Brent of Barre; Tina Bellofatto of Hubbardston; three sons, Michael J. Bellofatto of Springfield, Peter A. Bellofatto and his wife Robynn of Hubbardston, Anthony V. Bellofatto and his wife Marie of Sturbridge; a sister, Frances Boivin of Largo, Florida; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, John A. Bellofatto who passed in 1985.
The funeral will be held 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 22 at the Lamoureux-Fletcher & Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will be private at a later date. A gathering will be held at the Gardner Fish & Gun Club following the service.
A calling hour will be Saturday, October 22 from 12:30-1:30 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Gardner Fish & Gun Club, 538 Clark St., Gardner, MA 01440, with proceeds going towards the Children's Fishing Derby.
