William J. ODell

ATHOL - William J O Dell, Sr., 76 of 122 Bliss St., Athol, died Friday, July 27, 2007, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. He was born in Meredith, NY, on April 20, 1931, the son of the late William J. O Dell and the late Ida (Mattice) O Dell. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He served from 1951 to 1954 and from 1956 to 1963. He was a Engineer, employed by Digital for many years. He was a former member of the IOOFA89 of Athol. He enjoyed building small planes, boats, fishing, bowling and loved flower gardening. He was a devoted husband and father, he loved his family. He leaves his wife of fifty-four years, Rita (Caron) O Dell, four daughters, Nancy Yukaben of Athol, Judy O Dell of Portland, TN, Katherine Christensen and her husband Jeff of Salem, MA, Amy O Dell of Athol; four sons: Arthur O Dell, William J. O Dell, Jr. and his wife Lorie of Orange, Ronald O Dell and his wife Vickie of Gardner, David Atwood and his wife Lisa of Athol; two sisters, Dorothy Shultz of Davenport, NY, Elizabeth Hall of Meridth, NY; one brother, Leroy O Dell of Walton, NY; twenty-five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ann Dorion who died in 1996, by a brother, James O Dell, and by two sisters, Ruth O Dell and Helen Phillips, Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 3, 2007, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
