ATHOL - William J. Odell, Jr., 43, of 122 Bliss Street, Athol, died on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus in Worcester.
William was born in Fitchburg on August 15, 1967, the son of Rita (Caron) Odell of Athol and the late William J. Odell. He was raised in Fitchburg, Gardner and Athol before moving to Knoxville, TN with his family in 1980. Mr. Odell moved to Orange in 1984 and has resided in the Athol and Orange area for twenty-seven years. Several years ago, he worked for the former Adell Company in Orange and as a sand blaster for the L. S. Starrett Company for eight years. More
recently, Mr. Odell worked for Harris Manufacturing in Orange as a molder for nine years. He enjoyed hunting, archery, going fishing especially deep-sea fishing, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. William was often rebuilding sheds, remodeling and painting houses and cutting
trees. He was an outdoorsman who always stayed busy and enjoyed working and being helpful to others.
In addition to his mother, William also leaves his daughter, Kala Odell of Erving; three sons, Corey Odell of Westminster, Adam Odell of Orange, Travis Odell of Greenfield; four sisters, Nancy Yakuben of Athol, Judy Odell of Portland, TN, Katherine Christensen of North Reading, Amy Odell of Athol; three brothers, Arthur Odell of AZ, Ronald Odell and his wife Vicky of Gardner, David Odell of Orange; many nieces, nephews, coworkers and friends.
He was predeceased by his father in 2007 and by his sister, Mary Ann Dorion, in 1996.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
