Winifred O. Smialek

GARDNER- Winifred O. (Given) Smialek, 83, of Gardner, died Wednesday, December 14, in Wachusett Manor, after an illness. She was born April 25, 1933, in Templeton, daughter of the late Aylmer and Beatrice (Bliss) Given. Mrs. Smialek worked for Digital for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very compassionate, dedicated to volunteering with the Cancer Society. She loved dogs. She leaves her daughter, Kathy; three sons, Ed, Patrick, and David; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Bruce and Paul. A Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, is assisting the family with arrangements.
