MARLBOROUGH – Sister Yvette Comtois, formerly known as Sister Saint-Vincent-Martyr, passed away on the 22nd of June at Marie Esther Health Center in Marlborough, MA.
Born in Salem, MA, she was the eldest daughter of Napoleon and Flore (Vincent) Comtois. Sr. Yvette joined the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin where she served as a professed religious for over 79 years. She taught in the parochial schools in Boston, Salem, Millbury, MA and Laconia, NH. After retirement at Assumption Residence in Petersham, MA, she continued her work in education by tutoring numerous students in both elementary and secondary levels.
Sister Yvette Comtois is survived by her brother Vincent, her sister Pauline Thibault of Lowell, MA; several nieces and nephews, as well as the members of her religious family, the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Anne, 720 Boston Post Rd. East, Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in the East St. Cemetery, Petersham, MA.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Anne Residence in Marlborough, MA.
